Our Story
The Onion House, L.L.C. is a family-owned marketing and packing onion firm founded in 1999 by Don Ed Holmes. We focus on building and maintaining long-term relationships with our growers and customers. Both our Sales and Accounting departments are instrumental in maintaining these relationships. Don Ed heads the sales department alongside Steve Roach and Chuck Hill. Janie Holmes, wife of Don Ed, leads the company's accounting team while his brother Rick Holmes executes the field work.

Founded in Weslaco in 1999, The Onion House has grown into one of the largest onion shippers in South Texas. Our onions are grown right here in the Rio Grande Valley as well as Colorado, Mexico, and Utah. From seed to sale we ensure our onions meet our customers' high quality demands.
